Awareness Session on Deep Tech Solutions for MSMEs
Chamber of Small Industry Association (COSIA) and Thane Small Scale Industries Association (TSSIA) in collaboration with Plugin Alliance, an initiative by SINE-IIT Bombay and Intel India had organized an awareness session on 4th April, 2022 with an objective to promote Industrial IoT solutions /Industry 4.0 solutions across the work streams which will help enterprises in improving their operating efficiency, product quality, production and other solutions to industrial problems based on technology which enhances the global competitiveness of the Enterprises. Also, a few solutions from Plugin Alliance member startups were also showcased during this awareness session.
This Session aimed to achieve the following outcomes for the participants:
1. To learn about cost efficient deep tech solutions deployed across enterprises in India and Globe which can automate all their work streams.
2. Interact and engage with startups who have implemented deep tech solutions across industries.
3. Technology audit consultation by verified consultants of Plugin Alliance to assess automation requirement and recommendation of relevant solution by Plugin Alliance team if in case the participants face any challenge in identifying their enterprise automation need.
4. Onboard large enterprises by serving their quality solutions
Mr. Purushottam Agwan, VP COSIA, welcomed the participants, startups and introduced the team of Plugin Alliance. Mr Agwan presented the opening remarks. The Plugin Alliance team consisting of Ms. Poyni Bhatt - CEO of SINE IIT B, Mr. Shaji Varghese – Dy. CEO of SINE IIT B, Mr. Amit Chatterjee – Representative of Intel Corporation and Mr. Rakesh Rajiv – Sr. Incubation Manager of SINE IIT B were given floral felicitation by COSIA and TSSIA Team.
About Plugin Alliance: Ms. Poyni Bhatt – CEO of SINE IIT B gave a brief introduction about SINE IIT B and the Plugin Alliance. Plugin Alliance is the first-of-its kind industry technology alliance in India for Enterprise and MSME to accelerate and scale Emerging technology solutions. It aims to provide an open collaborative framework for the ecosystem to nurture innovation and accelerate adoption of smart industry solutions enhancing global competitiveness. She also demonstrated the Plugin Alliance website and how MSMEs can get benefitted by the same.
Mr. Amit Chatterjee - Industrial IOT Segment Leader & Strategic Business Development Leader with Intel Corporation, made a presentation on IIoT solutions deployed at SME’s in India and across Globe and their outcome. He focused on how Plugin Alliance and the startups associated with it can be instrumental in supporting MSMEs in improving their operating efficiency, product quality by providing production and other solutions to industrial problems based on technology which will ultimately enhance the global competitiveness of the beneficiary MSMEs. Mr. Chatterjee also presented Cluster level SME digital adoption case studies at Singapore, Germany, China etc and their outcomes.
Showcase of Deep Tech Solutions: The session continued with the Showcase of Deep Tech Startup Solutions. The following Startups showcased their expertise:
1) Constems-AI System Pvt. Ltd.
2) Shop Worx
3) Jidoka Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
4) Switchon
The solutions showcased at this session have the proven record of visualizing factory data, Energy monitoring, OEE, details of downtime, predict potential downtime and ways to avoid it. Solutions also covered automated product quality inspection and compliance to improve product competitiveness.
Panel Discussion: A panel consisting of representatives of the 4 startups, Mr Amit Chatterjee and Mr Purushottam Agwan discussed with the participants regarding how the Plugin Alliance and their associated Startups can work effectively with MSMEs. The Startup Representatives also addressed the specific queries raised by the participants. Mr. Agwan and Mr. Kirti Panchal – Committee Member of TSSIA suggested that the Plugin Alliance team and their associated Startups should come up with some MSME specific solutions.
Mrs Sujata Soparkar – President of TSSIA summed up the session by appreciating the initiatives taken by the Plugin Alliance team and assuring them as well as the participants that COSIA and TSSIA will take this association further in a manner that will be suitable for the needs of MSMEs. She also thanked the Startups and MSME participants. Also present were Mr. Dharmu Vanjani VP and Mr. Ninad Jaywant Hon. Gen. Secretary of COSIA. About 25 MSMEs participated in this event
